This Saturday Jenny Barringer will be making her debut as a professional runner at the prestigious Jordan Cardinal Invitational at Stanford University, where she'll run the 1500m. With a reputation as one of the top distance carnivals in the US, this event is an exciting beginning for Jenny's pro career. We couldn't be more excited for her.

 

The Role of Athletes at New Balance

Throughout the last 30 years, athletes have played a key role in building the New Balance brand and shaping our corporate philosophies. New Balance was one of the first athletic brands to work with elite athletes to develop better products and to communicate our commitment to running and sport. Examples of athletes that wore the New Balance brand and helped us develop better products are Dick Beardsley, Lou Whittaker, M.L. Carr, James Worthy, Francie Larrieu-Smith and Khalid Khannouchi. These athletes all articulated new ideas and needs that we successfully translated into better product.

 

2010 New Balance Games Recap

Team New Balance and members of the New Balance family joined elite high school and professional athletes from all over the world for the 2010 New Balance Games at the Armory Track in Washington Heights, NY this past weekend. The event brought high school and elite personal and national bests, memorable welcomes, helping hands, smiles, grunts, sweat, and tears.

New Balance Boston's Donovan Anchors USA to 5th Place Finish at Chiba Ekiden

On the heels of her recent win at the New England Cross Country Championships, New Balance Boston's Jenn Donovan anchored team USA at this past weekend's Chiba Ekiden relay in Japan, with a cumulative time of 2:09:42.

The challenging relay is run at full marathon distance, split into six legs of 5k, 5k, 10k, 5k, 10k and 7.2k, respectively. Also competing at Chiba Ekiden were Team New Balance runners Megan Metcalfe and Reid Coolsaet who led Team Canada to an 8th place finish in 2:12:24.
